Peavey TL-Five - $820

1992 Peavey TL-Five 5 string bass in a sunburst finish.
Designed and used by bassist extraordinaire Tim Landers from 1988-1996.
This workhorse of a bass features a nearly all flame maple construction with its neck through design and 4 stripes of purple-heart stringers.
The fingerboard features a thick slab of ebony with mother of pearl inlays and 24 frets.
The neck is a slim but comfortable D shape.
The headstock features the instruments five tuning machines (3 + 2); two of the original gold tuners are missing and have been replaced with two black grover tuners of the same style.
Underneath the truss rod cover is a hex truss rod adjuster that will cooperate with a 5/16" truss rod adjuster.
The bridge featured is a traditional vintage style bass bridge in gold plating.
Each string has its own barrel saddle with two hex adjustments on either side.
The pickups on this bass are the VFL series active pickups, these pickups carry a monstrous sound and are incredibly present.
The electronics feature 4 knobs, the two standard knobs are master volume and pick up blend.
The two bottom knobs are concentric knobs: The first (underneath the volume) is a bass (bottom) and treble (top) bleed.
The next knob is for your mid frequencies - the bottom is the amount of mid and the top is a sweep.
The first concentric knob has been replaced due to issues with the shaft on the original, because of this potentiometer swap the original knobs needed to be replaced with knobs that fit the new pot (the new knobs are also plated gold.
The battery adapter and input jack have also been replaced with new parts.
A couple cosmetic defects can be seen on this instrument: a chip in the finish on the curve of the body near the knobs, a chip on the neck on the treble side, a little finish cracking on the back of the headstock, a couple finish chips on the headstock front, and some buckle rash on the back near the contour.
This instrument's frets have been polished, the fingerboard treated, and has been given a full setup (truss rod adjustment, saddle height adjustment, and intonated).
This instrument comes with a padded Sadowsky soft shell case.
