1955 Conn Alto.
I’m not sure exactly what model.
It looks a lot like a 6M without the fancy engraving.
The keywork is definitely nicer than the 16M “director”.
The Lacquer is in pretty good shape other than a little corrosion around one of the pads on the back side.
I don’t know why it was just in that one spot, but that was the one pad I had to replace.
The rest are in decent shape.
No dents to speak of.
The bell is perfectly straight.
It plays fine by my standards.
I can hit all the notes, even the bell keys without any trouble.
I don’t have a case to go with it.
I do have a mouthpiece and ligature that can go with it.
It is not just my opinion that the U.
S.
made Conns are of much better quality than the later foreign-made instruments.
This thing will blast the lacquer off a shiny new Chinese horn.
If you’re looking for a band instrument, they used thicker and harder brass back then, so it’s a little heavier, but much better at standing up to careless handling.
$250 FIRM.
I will deduct $20 if you don’t need the mouthpiece.
I may consider trades for musical instruments (guitars, saxophones, cymbals, microphones) or possibly photography equipment.
How to contact: Due to the ridiculous number of junk calls I’ve been getting lately, I’ve stopped listing my phone number in ads.
I would prefer to answer any complicated questions by phone and prefer to talk at least once before giving out my address.
I will respond to emails through the CL relay and will happily give you my # in exchange for yours.
I need yours so that I do not assume you are trying to sell me health insurance.
