This position is responsible for the day-to-day coordination of all evaluative and analytic aspects of grant- funded projects, primarily addressing HIV/HCV prevention and treatment and substance use disorder treatment, with a focus on opioid use disorders.
The epidemiologist is to ensure that the designated protocols are in place for each project and are followed or justified in the event of needed change.
Finally, the epidemiologist will supervise several research staff and ensure these staff complete reports and collect data in accordance with the protocols established by the PI.
Daily Operations
Directs the evaluation and research efforts of the staff and ensures data is collected in accordance with protocols and that reporting to funding agencies is done in a timely fashion.
Maintains and develops databases for the collection of evaluative and research data, including oversight of Neo360.
Maintains effective communication with staff to ensure data is collected in accordance with protocols and analysis of data is used in programmatic decision making.
Schedules and attends monthly meetings of the partner agencies to ensure the effectiveness of the collaboration in regards to data collection.
Reports progress regularly to the partner agencies and oversees the completion of required progress reports.
Meets regularly with administrative team to develop additional grant proposals and funding opportunities.
Assists with Mobile Syringe Service Program to ensure data is collected and accurately reported in various databases.
This includes
Participates in the development, writing and submission of scholarly manuscripts, presentations, and grant applications
Communicates and networks with partner departments and local agencies to ensure data collection and reporting.
Leads and schedules staff meetings, in-service trainings, and workshops.
Other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
Required Skills
Demonstrate strong managerial skills, managing with excellence this large-scale community-based participatory research project, working with community, clinical and professional persons who have expertise in and engage in health assessment, screening and general intervention programs.
Experience in proposal development, report writing, and grants management
Proven abilities to work efficiently and effectively with local, state and federal agencies.
Strong experience with program and infrastructure development.
Must be organized, creative, independent and self-motivated, enthusiastic, dependable, detail oriented, flexible in scheduling and prioritization, and driven by excellence.
Must possess exceptional communication skills to present facts and recommendations effectively in oral and written form, including accurate grammar and business correspondence knowledge.

Thorough knowledge of office administration (including efficient filing systems, office machines and equipment, and computer software)

Required Education and Experience
Master’s degree from an accredited college or university is required.
Minimum of two (2) years-experience working in public health or health care settings.
Supervisory experience required.
Previous grant management and writing experience preferred.
