Registered Nurse - Labor and Delivery

*Registered Nurse Job - Labor and Delivery* *Nashville General Hospital is hiring for a full-time Registered Nurse for our Labor and Delivery* *Unit in Nashville, TN!* The Labor and Delivery Registered Nurse (RN) position works with mothers during their final stages of pregnancy helping with birthing, monitoring the mother's vital signs, and becoming astute in signs and symptoms of possible complications.
They are involved in patient education and addressing the psychosocial needs of the mothers after delivery.

* Administering medication and monitoring contractions.
* Coaching the mother during labor and delivery.
* Identifying complications during labor and delivery.
* Monitoring contractions and caring for the mother after she gives birth.
* Ability to handle emotionally difficult situations and be able to make quick decisions to provide proper medical care.
*Registered Nurse Required Skills & Qualifications:* * Understanding applicable state regulations and following compliance practices * Graduate of an accredited Associate Degree, Diploma, or Baccalaureate Degree program in Nursing Preferred.
* Current Licensure or permit to practice as a Registered Nurse in the State of Tennessee or compact state.
BLS, ACLS and NRP required.
* One year of clinical nursing experience in Labor and Delivery required and Operating Room (OR) preferred.
* Certified Post Anesthesia Nurse (CPAN) and Certified Ambulatory Perianesthesia Nurse (CAPA) preferred * STABLE encouraged *About Nashville General Hospital* Nashville General Hospital (NGH) is Nashville’s original community-based hospital.
