How You Will Make a Difference:
Position Summary
Position is involved in all medical aspects of the program care and support of clients within eating disorder treatment facility.
Works directly with client throughout shift to provide emotional support, encouragement, empathy and care.
Eats with clients, attend group, process events and emotions with clients and provides general structure designed to help clients refrain from eating disorder thoughts and behaviors.
Essential Responsibilities
Perform client assessments as ordered
Oversee medical issues and report issues to on-call Nurse Practitioner
Perform blood draws and reporting of values to on call Nurse Practitioner
Understand medical emergency policy and act as lead during event
Must be able to complete all nursing duties
Responsible for all nursing duties during shift
Correctly facilitate necessary shift communications to supervisor
Understand and follow 24 on-call medical procedures
Works 2-3 major and minor holidays annually
Communicate follow up needs to next shift nurse
Ensure effective communication between lab, courier and other medical offices and professional according to company procedures.
Communicate information and concerns to therapists and treatment team
Communicates client information in “Comm log”
Participates in on-call rotation for nursing staff
Attend all required trainings and meetings
Work with treatment team to present one clear decision/voice/standard to clients
Understand and follows all company policies, procedures and rules
Follow all HIPAA and Privacy laws, rules and company expectations
Builds rapport and trusting relationships with clients while maintaining professional boundaries
Uses empathy, sensitivity and genuineness during all times

What We Are Seeking
Education and Experience
Hold current LPN or RN licensure for the state of Tennessee
Appropriate Nursing Degree
Active First Aid/CPR/AED certification (American Red Cross/American Heart Assc)
Documented Proof of MMR and HEP B vaccination

Displays readiness to assume additional responsibilities in working with clients with eating disorders as evidenced by timeliness, dedication, and willingness to learn.

Demonstrates a high attention to detail and organizational and prioritizing skills.

Possesses a clear understanding of safety and security standards of Aster Springs and the employee’s role within those standards.
