Job Description
The Department of History, Political Science, Geography and Africana Studies at Tennessee State University invites applications for a 9-month, tenure-track Assistant Professor position in 20th-century African American History to begin Fall 2024.
The department is particularly interested in scholars who specialize in Black Women’s History.
Other areas of specialization may include but are not limited to Public History, the Modern Civil Rights Movement, gender and sexuality, the Black Freedom Struggle, and Comparative African Diasporas.
Selected candidates will teach General Education survey classes in American and/or African American History, as well as upper-division classes in their area of specialization.
Minimum Qualifications
Ph.
D.
in history or a related field, or foreign equivalent, in hand by the start date.
