*Job Description* Middle Tennessee Mental Health Institute (MTMHI) is a psychiatric hospital that has been serving 18 counties in Middle Tennessee since 1995.
Hospitalizations are on a voluntary or involuntary basis, or patients can also be referred by the court system for pre-trial evaluations.
The hospital offers 4 long-term care units, 3 short-term care units, forensic services, and therapeutic treatment units for a total of 207 beds.

This facility is an approved HRSA Nurse Corps site.
Eligible candidates may qualify to participate in the HRSA Nurse Corps loan repayment program.
*Summary of Position* As a Registered Nurse 3, you will be responsible for: * Assess and diagnose patients * Monitor patient care throughout assigned shift * Follow hospital nursing policies and procedures * Assist with patient discharge/leave process * Communicate with other providers regarding patient status * Share information with hospital staff by verbal and/or written communication according to hospital/nursing policies and procedures * Prepare documents and reports accordingly for use during the subsequent shift by nursing staff to ensure continuity of patient care * Conduct patient chart audits daily for each patient on assigned unit and immediately correct all transcription errors and/or flag omissions for 100% accuracy * Transcribe, prepare, and administer medications according to physician’s orders; document appropriately * Monitor hospital-wide activities to assist in the identification, prevention, and control spreading of infections * Promote a safe environment for patients and staff through early detection and early intervention to assist in preventing crisis situations * Follow policy and procedure when seclusions or restraint are ordered by the physician * Assist on unit/admissions when needed * May be assigned to work days, evenings, nights, and/or weekends *Qualifications and Skills* Currently licensed as a Registered Nurse in the State of Tennessee and experience equivalent to 3 years nursing OR Currently licensed as a Registered Nurse in the State of TN, education equal to a graduate degree, and 1 years’ experience OR Currently licensed as a Registered Nurse in the State of TN, education equal to a bachelor’s degree in nursing, and 2 years’ experience *Pre-employment Drug Testing and Criminal Background Checks Required.
