We are looking for a dedicated Director, Nursing Research like you to be a part of our team.
Job Summary and Qualifications Under the direction of the Vice President, Nursing Excellence, the Director of Nursing Research will lead the overall nursing research strategy for the Nursing Excellence program.
The Director of Nursing Research is responsible for developing, implementing and enhancing the HCA nursing research model in partnership with HCA Research Institute (HRI), and for creating a professional practice environment that drives efficient and high quality care.
The Director is also responsible for developing a model for fostering nursing research and evidence based practice at HCA Healthcare.
The Director of Nursing Research will provide leadership in the organization in the development of nursing and transdisciplinary research programs across HCA Healthcare, community partners and all affiliates.
He/She/They will have a strong partnership and affiliation with HCA Research Institute (HRI) in ensuring successful integration of nursing practice and science within healthcare research.
The Director of Nursing Research has broad experience in research and evidence based practice (EBP).
She/he/they will have broad expertise in nursing practice science, analytics, teaching, leadership and management skills.
The Director of Nursing Research will serve as a mentor for individuals or teams across the enterprise on abstract development, poster/podium presentations to local, regional, state, national and international conferences/symposiums in partnership with HRI.
The director plays a key role in the HCA Healthcare’s journey to elevating Magnet and Pathways status designation/re-designation efforts through strong partnership with the Director of Nursing Excellence.
What you will do in this role: General Responsibilities: 1.
Role Model- Provide leadership in the organization and development of nursing and transdisciplinary research programs within HCA Healthcare and all of its affiliates.

Identify research projects in partnership with HCA Research Institute (HRI), partner with universities and affiliates to advance practice, patient outcomes and professional relationships within designated service line/areas.
2.
In collaboration with HRI, seeks collaborative research and evidence based projects within a designated service line/area.
3.
Establishes and maintains the ethical and legal conduct of research.
4.
Collaborates with transdisciplinary teams in the design, implementation and evaluation of research in the clinical setting.

Provide mentorship for nurses and health professionals in research.
1.
Conduct individual or group mentoring sessions to provide support for research or evidence based project development from inception, design, implementation, data analysis, and dissemination.
2.
Provide education in all forms either to groups or individuals on topics of evidence based projects and research.
3.
Actively serve on Professional Governance Nursing Evidence and Research Council and/or advisory boards.
4.
Create writing opportunities for manuscript development and written dissemination of projects.

Mentor individuals or teams on abstract development, poster/podium presentations to local, regional, state, national and international conferences/symposiums.

Contribute to overall health science literature.

Create and implement a dissemination plan for research and evidence based projects that includes peer review journals, books, book chapters, media, posters, podium presentations and other forms of dissemination for self and members of healthcare teams.

Actively engage and participate in HRI’s programs that include nursing care and science by promoting EBP.

Develop a portfolio of independent/collaborative research to achieve the primary objectives.

Create portfolio of research aligned to Nursing Excellence Strategic Plan focus areas and goals.
2.
Collaborate with nurse leaders to define primary objectives and identify resources to support independent research.
3.
Ensure integration of professional practice constructs throughout evidence based projects and research.

Play a key role in elevating the reputation of HCA Healthcare Nursing in the communities we serve 1.
Ensure EBP standards are met consistently across the enterprise through research 2.
Play a key role I nurse satisfaction surveys through continuous research involvement 3.
Ensure field support by having open communication with facility and division partners 7.
Conduct 1.
Develops and maintains productive and collaborative relationships with other corporate partners in the development and achievement of inter- departmental goals and objectives.

Provides leadership, direction and coordination of operations within the Nursing Excellence program 3.
Monitors productivity levels to ensure that budget goals are met.
4.
Develops and implements new research systems and services as needed to provide optimum delivery of quality service.
5.
Provides direction, overall management, coordination, and monitoring for services to assure consistency and continuity between all programs.
Assures that all services are consistently provided in an efficient, timely, and quality manner.
6.
Assures that standards of excellence for nursing practice, including Magnet standards, are developed, implemented, measured and maintained.
What qualifications you will need: Bachelor’s degree in Nursing required PhD required 10+ years of experience in clinical setting 3+ years of experience in administrative role RN license Experience with nursing research program Publication experience Skill in coordinating the activities of multiple work groups to eliminate duplication of effort and inefficiencies in getting work accomplished.
