We want you to apply! Job Summary and Qualifications JOB SUMMARY The Senior Third Party Data Transmission Architect is a team member on HCA’s Enterprise Application Portfolio Management (APM) Team.
As a senior team member, they are responsible for working with the team and leaders to ensure each application/transmission request complies with HCA security policies and directives.
In addition, the role identifies, articulates, and recommends best practices for data transmission architecture and security compliance.
For data transmissions that do not comply with security policies, provide thorough vetting of the process, security controls, and a recommendation on approval or rejection to appropriate approval stakeholders.
The Data Transmission Specialist will also work closely with Information Protection and Security (IPS) and the Enterprise Architecture Team.
The role develops a trusted advisor relationship with product teams, key stakeholders including business leadership, ITG leaders, and other department professionals.
Duties Include: • Responsible for participating and advising on data transmissions within the enterprise environment.
o Responsible for working with the APM Teams to identify applications/transmissions.
For external applications/transmissions, review all identified applications/transmissions for security compliance, security controls, scoring and recommendations (if not following best practices).
o Work with IPS on as needed to review policies, data transmissions and other items.
o Work with vendors, project teams, and product teams to thoroughly review o Responsible to assist with the adoption, training, communication and education of the APM process.
o Assists with, completes, and maintains process maps by streamlining workflows.
o Completes requirements and ensures technology supports process flow optimally.
o Leverages lean six sigma and industry best practices when developing ideal processes, assessing existing processes for optimization.
o Assist in the preparation and delivery of reports and recommendations to senior leaders on the approval of third-party data transmissions.
• Provides recommendations to IPS on policy updates.
• Lead and support User Review Groups, as assigned.
• Assists with the selection, implementation, change management, integrations, enhancements and upgrade of tools selected by the APM Team and has product ownership.
• Supports the technology decision and roadmap for Data Transmissions across the APM process.
• Lead and support the review of application inventory and peer review meetings as assigned.
• Maintains interim state and future state workflows throughout process evolution and enhancements.
o Responsible for evaluating all third-party data transmissions, ensuring a thorough review is completed, working with product teams and vendors to understand the data transmission and providing recommendations on approvals.
o Responsible for reviewing third-party data transmission and ensuring information accuracy and working with submitters and improvements.
o Responsible for communication to product teams, application rationalization team, peers and other teams on third-party data transmission reviews o Help identify obstacles to the Third-Party Data Transmission leader.
Escalate issues as necessary.
o Develop education to train the APM Process community through knowledge articles and HealthStream presentations.
• Gathers and submits requirements to the data analytics team for development of reports and dashboards as needed.
o Ensures KPIs/SLAs are developed and adhered to.
o Holds Enterprise accountable for following defined processes to ensure effectiveness and compliance, and escalates when variances are identified.
• Supports audit-related inquiries.
• Develop and distribute Executive Enterprise status reporting.
• Establishes and maintain strong relationships with ITG leadership, Capability Owners, Business Owners, Enterprise Architecture, Project Management, Information Protection, Finance & Administration, and vendors to mature the application portfolio management content.
o Communicates with end users and other stakeholders through multiple channels.
o Develops training for user communities of TPA/APM.
• All other duties as assigned.
GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES • Review, evaluate and provide recommendations on data transmissions within the enterprise environment.
• Communicate with product teams on recommended data transmissions to ensure the security of HCA data.
• Review and know in extreme detail Information Protection and Security policies related to data tranmissions.
• As required, prep and provide to senior leadership new data transmissions for review and approval.
• Perform any and all other tasks and activities as requested.
• Handle complex data requests, reports, and modeling as required.
• Generate, resolve and track queries to address problematic data identified during data review activities and apply proper modification / correction to the database.
• Troubleshoot and offer solutions based on the project's needs.
• Draft specifications for medium to high-complexity listings and reports.
• Increase the breadth and quality of data that is tracked, monitored and analyzed for both internal use and client reporting.
• Strong knowledge of Information Protection Cyber Risk Management • Provides organizational, communication, business analysis, project management, and problem solving skills • Champions Lean Six Sigma and iProcess best practices.
• Continually seeks to improve technical, consulting, and professional skills by attending classes and keeping up-to-date on industry standards.
• Ability to work independently and manage workload prioritization to deliver high quality work products on time with minimal direction • Excellent communication and inter-personal skills, including the ability to collaborate with personnel at all levels of the enterprise in a succinct, cooperative and effective manner, in a variety of media and formats • Demonstrates conflict management and negotiation skills to consistently achieve “win-win” results • High energy, ambitious self-starter with an aptitude for learning and customer focus • Mission driven and Healthcare Inspired Qualified candidates will have 5+ years of relevant work experience required Bachelor’s degree preferred OTHER/SPECIAL QUALIFICATIONS • Strong knowledge of data transmission protocols, policies, and security controls.
Knowledge in external connectivity: Vendor Access solutions, VPN solutions, Business to Business (B2B) VPN, Private Circuits, Virtual Desktop (VDI) solutions, Remote Access solutions, Mobile Device Management solutions, Secure File Transfer Platform (SFTP) solutions, and other connections approved via a Mitigating Control Plan.
